Hola Familia,

Hope you're free and happen to be in NYC 6/18 to Join us for our Pop Up Pa'Lante SOUL SESSION In the Park!

We know June is Jumpin, and if you're looking to mix liberation youth work for political prisoners with music, poesia and pop up shopping in a park, we have the event for you!

WHAT? We’re throwing a pop-up shop event con musica!

WHERE?: Sakura Park 490 Riverside Dr, New York, NY 10027 (corner of W122nd by Grants Tomb and Riverside Church  (see map below))

WHEN?: on Sunday, June 18th from 12-4pm

WHY?: to raise funds for (click thisyouth summer camp for social justice that Urban Art Beat and the maroon party for liberation is running with former political prisoner Dylcia Pagan in Loíza, Boriken. We’re fundraising so we can give the youth the optimum experience and get more resources to the incredibly talented artists –– thanks to donors like you, it’s all free for the kids, right on la tierra where maritime maroons landed! Loiza might be one of the economically poorest municipalidades in Puerto Rico, but la comunidad is rich in culture and resistance! Creative Youth + Revolutionary Legacy = True Liberation!

Take Action: Help us –– so we’re throwing an art fair with an open mic organized by the incredible Hakim, a.k.a rebel poet, a DJ (hey spiritchild!), live music, a raffle, some live portraits, good food, handmade clothes, beautiful artwork, and great energy as always! It’s mutual aid style so each artist/vendor has agreed to give a portion of their sales to the fund  so you can support Urban Art Beat while also supporting some awesome artists. We’d love it if you could come through and bring people you love: we’re celebrating fathers that mother, mothers that father, organizers that "birth and raise" movements and the coming summer where music and mentorship unite to transform lives!

BUSY or FAR? If can’t be there this Sunday but still want to uplift youth voice in Boriken, find out more and donate to the gofundme!

Want to Vend? We’re also still open to vendors if you’re interested in selling something  please fill this out to sign up:

And finally, the flyer is attached with all the info! Please feel free to share around in all your group chats / socials / put it up in your neighborhood, whatever is best. Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions or want to be involved in any way.

With love, gratitude, and grounded in ART = POLITICS,
Olive Louise, rosa, spirit, Hakim and the UAB maroons!
