Star in Your Own Music Video!! A song writing Contest.
PRIZES:
1st Prize: Your own Music Video!
Winning song will be made into a music video created by Sol Tryon, the director of the film The Living Wake. Your Video will be shown at the premier of the film on May 14th at The Cinema Village Movie Theater: 22 East 12th St. NY, NY!
2nd Prize: DVD of you and your crew at a live performance of your Ultimate Party Track.
Entry Prize: All Qualifying contestants will receive free admission to see premier of The Living Wake and the winning video.
SONG CONTENT:
To write your Ultimate Party Song, focus on this question:
If you knew tomorrow was your ultimate day on earth…
• How would you celebrate your life?
• What would you say to the people you love?
• What do you want to be remembered for?
** TIPS-Describe Who or What in your life is most important to you.
Write about what have done that makes you unique! Be creative!
Song Guidelines:
1. Find/Create an original beat.* 2. Write an original song/poem, focusing on the suggested content, with at least 2 verses of 16 bars. 3. Email lyrics and contact information of all artists involved in the making of your track to urbanartbeatnyc@gmail.com by midnight, Thursday, April 15th 2010.
• You may enter more than one song/poem. (Solo and Group)
• Please use school appropriate language and references.
• All song writers must be 18 or younger to enter.
• *If you use a commercial beat you may be asked to sing/rap your lyrics over a different beat.
If you are writing a poem or spoken word piece, you do not have to have a beat!
• **Although not required, it may be helpful to email an MP3 file or video of you performing the song along with the lyrics.
